Camp Cooking 101 (Week 3)

First time coming to camp? No problem! We will swim, sing songs, and play games. Learning about fire safety, cook a snack over the fire, and make s'mores for dessert! Brave Little Adventurers (Week 4)

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to Hogwarts. Join us in Potions Class, where you'll make bubbly experiments and play-doh. In Care of Magical Creatures, you'll meet the creatures of the creek, and herbology, you'll learn about plants around camp. Girls will complete the Being Resourceful Petal.

Art, Art, Art! (Week 7)

Bring a buddy and check out art in nature! Have a color race, make a maraca, and give back to camp with Leave No Trace posters. Also, make art pieces to take home like tie-dye and paintings. Work on earning your Outdoor Art Maker Badge.

What does your favorite snow queen do in the summer? Enjoy the sunshine, of course! With a little magic, get ready to stretch your imagination by creating fire crystals and personal flurries for your very own snowman! Girl vs. Wild (Week 4)

Explore your wild side as you learn essential outdoor skills and survival techniques from an experienced camper including shelter building knots, fire building (and eating yummy stew too!), and more! Don't forget to explore camp as well! During this camp, you'll work towards the Brownie Cabin Camper badge.

Just Keep Swimming (Week 5)

On Dory's search to find her parents, she finds many different items: you will too as you complete a scavenger hunt, play a game of Who's who, and race to be the first to find Dory's parents. Make a hopscotch from jellyfish to jellyfish. During this week, help Dory find her parents while working towards the Making Games badge.

Potion Master’s (Week 6)

Finish your week with a survival challenge that will put all your skills to the test.

Investigation Crew (Week 2)

Something mysterious has happened. It’s up to you and your teammates to solve the mystery. Discover the location of hidden messages and secret maps and work together to solve puzzles and riddles. Twists and turns at every corner will keep you and your new friends guessing. Look at evidence, study fingerprints, communicate in code, and make some very interesting observations all while you work towards the Detective Badge!

Outdoor Cuisine (Week 3)

Become an outdoor chef this week as you learn new dishes over the campfire or in a Dutch oven. You will meet a great cook. You will make at least three snacks this week including an international sandwich, dessert, and compete in a breakfast cooking challenge while working on your Simple Meals badge.

Survivor: Camp Edition (Week 4)

Campers won’t be sent off to a deserted island, but we will enjoy many mental and physical challenges! Be creative and use your problem-solving skills in daily age appropriate challenges such as relay races, team games and scavenger hunts. Learn the value of teamwork as you work together to earn points for your team. At the end of the week, we’ll find out who is the true survivor!

Shipwreck (Week 5)

Ahoy Mates! You’ve been attacked by pirates and stranded at Camp Butterworth. To survive, you’ll learn useful skills like knots, build an emergency shelter, light fires, navigate by the stars, identify wild edible plants and more! This adventure filled week will be full of pirates, survival skills, canoeing in the pool, and more fun than a pirate chest full of gold! You’ll work towards completing your Outdoor Journey this week.

Hedwig’s Adventures (Week 6)

Welcome to Hogwarts! Campers will be immersed in the fictional world of Harry Potter. They’ll start off by being sorted into one the four houses – Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff! During this magical week, campers will experience Potion Making, Charms, Muggle Magic, Care of Magical Creatures, Quidditch and plenty of games that will give them chances to earn points for their houses. Who will win the House Cup?

Arts & Arrows (Week 7)

Let's mix two of your favorite camp activities: arts and target sports! You will create works of art at all three ranges – archery, slingshots, and tomahawks! Try some splatter painting at the range which you can wear to show off your awesome skills and take part in an epic target skills challenge. What could be more cheerful than celebrating all the colors of the rainbow while at camp? This week is all about vibrant colors and messy fun! Visit Diagon Alley via the Knight Bus to collect your wizarding money in Gringotts, find the perfect wand and use scrolls and quills for your writing essentials. Practice herbology & defense against the dark arts. Travel to Hogsmeade, where you can relax with a butterbeer, and make necessary potion ingredients for your brewing needs. Remember to pack your favorite wizarding costumes.

Ready for a week of life-sized fun and games? Travel to the sports fields where you'll play a challenging game of Hungry-Hungry Hippos. Then get messy during shaving cream Twister! There won't be any bullseyes at the archery range, because it'll be transformed into an exciting game of Fruit Ninja! Practice your aim with tomahawks, like an Angry Bird, as you attempt to create a disaster of the pigs’ tower. At the end of the week, it will be up to you to create your own life-sized game!

Junior Counselor (Week 0)

Girls who have completed both CIT I and II programs and are entering grade 12 can apply to be a Junior Counselor. This is an internship opportunity for girls to receive direct mentorship from the camp staff and can opt to shadow program specialists. Girls must participate in an application and interview process and be selected for the positions. Junior Counselors will attend a three-day pre-camp training June 5-7, 2021 at Camp Whip Poor Will. Junior counselors must intern a minimum of 2 weeks, one at Camp Whip Poor Will and one at Camp Libbey but may then choose additional weeks. Junior Counselors may also intern during Troop Adventure Camp at Camp Libbey to gain new skills. Participants will go home over the weekends between internship weeks. Prerequisite: CIT I and II, Junior Counselor application, references, and interview. CIT II‘s will experience the challenges and rewards of working with younger girls through training that includes application of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, exploring the various leadership styles, learning positive behavior techniques, age and social characteristics, and resident camp skills. Participants will have an opportunity to observe unit and program staff, evaluate experiences, and receive guidance from the CIT Director as they assist in units, building up to spending an entire day with their assigned unit. Prerequisite: CIT I. Girls will earn their CIT II pin. Girls will go home the weekends between their three weeks.

Gain a wealth of knowledge and lifesaving skills by completing training to become an American Red Cross certified Lifeguard. Girls must be 15 years or older at the time of certification. During this week, spend time down at the pool earning your certification which includes lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid. You must be able to pass pre-course swimming skills test consisting of the following: swim 300 yards continuously (no time limit) using the front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination (swimming on the back or side is not allowed), and tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs. When you're not training, you and your group will have plenty of time to do a variety of camp activities like conquer the high challenge course, shoot archery or cook a meal over the fire. This group will spend the week staying in the hammock/pop up tent unit.

Me and My Guy | Camp Rolling Hills | Pleasant Hill, OH

Experience all the fun of camp with that special man in your life! Bring your dad or another adult male role model to explore the woods, create nature projects, learn outdoor skills, hone slingshot skills, and cook lunch over a fire together. Older girls and their guys will have additional age-appropriate adventures. Dress for the weather, and wear clothing you don't mind getting dirty. Bring an extra pair of shoes or boots if you plan on doing a little creek stomping!

Are you ready for a jam-packed day at camp? This event it designed for Girl Scout Daisies through Cadettes to explore the many adventures of Camp Whip Poor Will. Go canoeing on Four Winds Lake, visit the low challenge course, tackle the climbing wall, take aim at the archery range, hunt for geocaches or letterboxes, cool off at the pool and much more! You can attend as a troop or as an individual with an adult.

Family Campout | Camp Libbey | Defiance, OH

Pack up the whole family and head out to camp. This is your weekend to enjoy the great outdoors while doing it safely and at your own pace! Choose the number of nights to stay and select which type of lodging fits your needs. Based on your choice, your family will be placed separately in either an indoor lodge or one of our outdoor units which includes platform tents, wagons, and small bunk cabins. When it comes to things to do, you will receive a packet full of self-guided activities, plus several program areas will be open to enjoy together. Families must bring their own food for meals. Snacks will be provided. The base fee covers program supplies, snacks, insurance, and patches. Lodging fee is based on indoor or outdoor facility choice. More details will be available upon registration.
