Join us for a week of fairies, fantasy, and fun as we explore Camp Woodhaven - searching for letterboxes, fairy houses, and more!
Along the way, you’ll see some familiar faces, hear some of your favorite camp songs and join us in laughter and fun. It’s your summer, so camp like a Girl Scout!
The first sessions for each topic are recommended for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors (grades K-5) and the second sessions are recommended for Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors (grades 6-12), but all are welcome for each session!
Outdoor Skill Building
Join us as we go through different tiers of outdoor living skills for all ages. Follow along while you watch the video and then give it a try!
Letterboxing
Join today's letterboxing adventure! You'll learn how to solve clues, search for letterboxes, and even how to make your own stamp for your letterbox.
CRAFTS
Tune in for our art programming. These were live sessions with our camp staff where they showed you the arts of camp!
TORY STONES
Join us as we make story stones - painting, storytelling, and more!
TERRARIUMS
Grab a glass jar, some rocks, dirt, and some plants and join Ember as she teaches you how to make a terrarium. You can use materials found around the house or purchase supplies for this activity. Bring a spoon and a chopstick if you have it to help dig and plant items!
Nature
No adventure is complete without exploring the outdoors. Join us as we take you through the trails of our camps—with a twist! Each hike we’ll share some activities you can do on your own, wherever you are.
Storytelling & Fairy House Hike
Have you ever wondered what a fairy house might look like? Or how you can find one? Join Yakker and Duckie as they read a story and go searching for a fairy house in the woods of Camp Woodhaven!
Pond Hike
Join Ember at the Woodhaven pond as she shows us different aspects of pond life.
Cooking by the Campfire
Grab your ingredients and gather round the campfire (or kitchen) for a play by play of how to make some delicious campfire meals and sweet treats.
Shepherds Pie & Potato Candy
Try out this classic English recipe on the campfire - made with ground beef, veggies and mashed potatoes to top it off! And did you know you can make candy from potatoes? This combination of mashed potatoes and powdered sugar will have you pleasantly surprised - and it's a great dessert for a hot day, too!
Spring Rolls & Ice Cream in a Bag
Looking for a fun new campfire meal? Join us as we make Spring Rolls over the fire. Then, we'll end our meal with making our very own ice cream!
STEM
Join our experts in the field of STEM! While most people are encouraged not to try things in their living rooms, you’ll be able to challenge yourself to some pretty awesome science and engineering projects.
Test a Cardboard Boat
Why do some things float and others don’t? Learn about a predictor for buoyancy, and how to size and build a boat out of cardboard. Want to have some fun? Build a surfboat! Or, build something smaller that you can test in your bathtub. Your creativity is the limit!

STEM
Cardboard… how much depends on how big you want to build your boat, and what you want it to be able to hold.
A measuring tape
A calculator (or access to a computer… sample spreadsheet provided)
Duct tape
A plastic tablecloth (or 2 or 3, depending on how large you go with your boat)
Something to cut your cardboard with
Someplace to test your boat… like a bathtub, pool, or lake.
OPTIONAL: some weight, to verify that your design works. Which means, you’ll also need to be able to weigh your boat with the extra weight. (You can always do this by standing on a scale holding your boat and the weight, then subtracting the weight of you alone.)
Join us as we take you on a tour of Camp Woodhaven! We will drive through first so you can get a lay of the camp, and then tour the buildings. This is perfect if you've never been to Woodhaven before, or you just miss seeing the familiar sights!
We'll be touring camp in the Summer Camp 2020 Facebook Group on Sunday, June 28 at 5 p.m., so be sure to join in advance! We will also post the tour here later in the week.
