Do you dream of being an artist? Have fun exploring different art projects and discover your creative side. You’ll discover new ways to paint, learn how to design your own nature-themed t-shirt, and go on a hike and paint something you found in nature.
Along the way, you’ll see some familiar faces, hear some of your favorite camp songs and join us in laughter and fun. It’s your summer, so camp like a Girl Scout!
The first sessions for each topic are recommended for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors (grades K-5) and the second sessions are recommended for Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors (grades 6-12), but all are welcome for each session!
Outdoor Skill Building

Leave No Trace
As Girl Scouts, respecting the outdoors is always on our minds. The 7 Leave No Trace principles teach us minimum impact practices while we are exploring the outdoors. Ember is going to teach us more about them and great ways to remember each principle.
Making a Box Oven
You've conquered stick cooking, pie irons and dutch ovens, but have you ever used a box oven? You could use a box oven to make a variety of delicious foods - cookies, nachos and more. Yakker will walk you through the steps to make a box oven.

Get ready to join Luna on a short hike as she gathers pieces of nature and then shows you how to paint with them! Make sure you are ready with some spare paper and paint!

Join Yakker on a hike to find natural art materials. Once you've collected your art supplies, you'll head back and create an artistic masterpiece from your found items!
Cooking by the Campfire
Grab your ingredients and gather round the campfire (or kitchen) for a play by play of how to make some delicious campfire meals and sweet treats.
Mac and Cheese & Orange Slices
Macaroni and cheese is a favorite meal at home - but who knew you could make it while you're camping, too? It's easy to make, and you'll love how good it tastes! Then, finish off your meal with some tasty orange slices!
Nachos & Brown Bears
Ever wish you could have some tasty nachos while you're camping? Well, you can make them in your box oven! Then, pair it with a classic dessert over the fire - delicious brown bears!
STEM
Join our experts in the field of STEM! While most people are encouraged not to try things in their living rooms, you’ll be able to challenge yourself to some pretty awesome science and engineering projects.
Make a Catapult
Make a cardboard catapult out of items you probably have on hand at home. Learn about potential energy and kinetic energy with a fun, simple machine. Join us next week to test your catapult!

Make a Catapult
Some cardboard from a large or small cardboard box. Alternate making instructions provided. Easiest is if you have two pieces of cardboard 7” by 9.5”, and two pieces 4” by 9.5”. But, this design is flexible.
A wood paint stir stick (approximately 1.125” wide x 14” long, available free from most paint stores)
A 3-M Command damage-free plastic hook
A small plastic condiment cup or small yogurt cup
A rubber band
A pencil
Duct tape or packing tape
Hole punch, scissors, and/or utility knife (to cut the cardboard and punch holes to hold the pencil. Also, a ruler to measure off the sides.
A small ball or even a cotton ball to test your catapult… we’ll get into more projectile options next week when we test it. But start looking for things of different weights. You can use silly putty and make different sized balls.

Join us as we take you on a tour of the Little House! We will start by driving through the City Park, and then tour the inside of the building and the surrounding fenced in area. This is perfect if you've never been there before, or you just miss seeing the familiar sights!
