» Camporee 2020: The Ultimate Outdoor Family Experience
There are so many things that can be learned in the outdoors! How to be comfortable, what equipment you need, and how to use it safely. Plus, who doesn't enjoy a great cookout! But sometimes you need a little more preparation when things don't always go your way. This weeks theme will focus on survival skills! Join us as we jump into "survival" mode!
Along the way, you’ll see some familiar faces, hear some of your favorite camp songs and join us in laughter and fun. It’s your summer, so camp like a Girl Scout!
The first sessions for each topic are recommended for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors (grades K-5) and the second sessions are recommended for Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors (grades 6-12), but all are welcome for each session!
Join us as we go through different tiers of outdoor living skills for all ages. Follow along while you watch the video and then give it a try!
What if you had to spend the night outdoors without a tent? Here's a few ideas on building a temporary shelter using a tarp and some rope!
If you were hiking and discovered you were lost near nightfall, what would you do? Today we'll learn some tips and techniques to building a primitive shelter - what to look for and what to use when you don't have any supplies with you!
Tune in for our art programming. These were live sessions with our camp staff where they showed you the arts of camp!
Paracord is used for a lot of survival situations, but it's also awesome for creating other fun items! Join us to figure out how to make a collection of fun paracord creatures.
Whether you are a survivalist or a nature lover who regularly spends time in the outdoors, there are many things you need in order to survive in the wild. One you must have is a survival bracelet. They can be simple in design, but do not be fooled because these bracelets can be of great help in a life or death situation. Watch and learn how to make your very own survival bracelet!
No adventure is complete without exploring the outdoors. Join us as we take you through the trails of our camps—with a twist! Each hike we’ll share some activities you can do on your own, wherever you are.
On this hike, we'll get you to start thinking about basic survival skills. How do you find a water source? Where do you get food? What do you do if the weather changes? These simple skills could someday be a life saver!
Learn about different animals and how they use camouflage to help them stay safe! Once you know some concepts, then learn about what activities you could do outdoors with your friends and family! If you were an animal, how would you "become invisible?"
Grab your ingredients and gather round the campfire (or kitchen) for a play by play of how to make some delicious campfire meals and sweet treats.
Try out these tasty fajitas that you can make over the fire. Not only are they tasty, but very colorful! Then, to round out the meal, dump everything into a dutch oven for a perfect and very colorful dump cake!
Tired of pizza in a pie iron? Go the Mexican route by creating a unique Crunch Wrap--you won't believe how tasty it is! It's something new and different for pie iron cooking. For dessert, what's better than a Campfire Cinnamon Twist? Toast away!
Join our experts in the field of STEM! While most people are encouraged not to try things in their living rooms, you’ll be able to challenge yourself to some pretty awesome science and engineering projects.
Have you ever seen a volcano erupt? Did it look cool? Join us as we learn about chemical reactions when we make our own volcano! It is easy and you probably have everything you need in your house. You’ll be erupting with excitement as we learn about acids and bases in this fun experiment.
