Do you like to sing songs like rock stars by the campfire? Swim like fish in a lake? Explore the outdoors? Girl Scouts summer resident camp is for you!
At camp, you’ll learn new skills and experience new adventures. You’ll also make new friends and create memories that will last a lifetime.
And don’t forget—you can invite your very best friend to come too… even if she isn't a Girl Scout! It’s one of the many ways you can get involved in the Girl Scouts Leadership Experience.

Splash Camp (Week 1) (Sun-Tues)
Currently in grades K-2

Nothing is better in summer than time in the water -- and you'll spend plenty of time in it. Enjoy a floating lunch, stomp your way through the creek, and play water games. You'll also get to experiment with water by using it to make rainbows and painting with watercolors. Girls will work toward their Outdoor Adventurer badge.

Enjoy the great outdoors of Camp Libbey and spend time adventuring, hiking, singing and crafting your way through camp. Become a mad scientist and learn how to whip up your own experiments. Make ice cream, launch rockets into the sky, make glow-in-the dark slime or make soda explode! Take your taste buds on a flavorful adventure - munch and slurp your way through this time creating new delicious treats. Discover the difference between sweet and savory and how to make a snack that’ll give you energy. By the end of the week you’ll be a top chef by making up your own new recipe. You’ll still have plenty of time to take aim at the sling shot range and swim at the pool. Girls will work towards their Snacks badge.

It's time to fire up your imagination as you pinch, mold, and coil clay into pots, sculptures, or beads! Hunt for natural clay on a creek stomp and learn to make clay from ingredients from the kitchen. Then paint and glaze your creations to take home! From the thrilling heights of the climbing wall to a relaxing float in a canoe you’ll experience the best activities at camp! You’ll learn and perfect your paddling skills before taking a day trip down the river complete with a picnic lunch. On the climbing wall you’ll have the opportunity complete various challenges making each new climb a different experience; can you climb blindfolded or drop a paint balloon and hit a target? Junior Counselor (Week 0)
Currently in grade 11
3 day training and 2 week+ internship | No cost | Jun 3-5
Girls who have completed both CIT I and II programs and are entering grade 12 can apply to be a Junior Counselor. This is an internship opportunity for girls to receive direct mentorship from the camp staff and can opt to shadow program specialists. Girls must participate in an application and interview process and be selected for the position. Junior Counselors will attend a three-day pre-camp training June 3-5, 2021 at Camp Libbey. Junior counselors must intern a minimum of 2 weeks, one at Camp Whip Poor Will and one at Camp Libbey but may then choose additional weeks. Participants will go home over the weekends between internship weeks. Prerequisite: CIT I and II, Junior Counselor application, references, and interview. Pack a backpack and wander out to the less-traveled trails of camp! Spend your session exploring parts of camp not many others see. On your second night, pick a spot and set up camp, cook your dinner, and sleep under the stars. Learn about Leave No Trace ethics and gain outdoor skills that will help you on future backpacking trips. Girls will work towards their Trailblazing badge.

You've read their books, you watch them on the big screen, now spend your time at camp exploring your favorite fandoms with girls just as excited about them as you! Bring your books and knowledge and spend time focusing on different fandoms. From a galaxy far far away to Platform 9 ¾ and beyond, try your hand at lightsaber fights, games of quidditch, and adventurous challenges just like your favorite characters. While you’re at it, develop your own story and write your own comics to begin your path as the next great author! Girls will work toward their Comic Book artist badge.

Road Trip Michigan (Week 1)

Embark on the ultimate American summer pastime — a week long road trip! Create a playlist, pack up the camp van, and prepare to explore all that Michigan has to offer. The best part? You and your new friends get to make the plan! Spend Sunday night finding all the best places to go; options could include taking a ferry to Mackinac Island for some world famous fudge, a visit to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, or even visit an art museum or zoo. The choices are endless and completely up to you! Girls will work towards their Ultimate Recreation Challenge or Traveler badge.

Counselor-in-Training 2 (3 week session) (Week 1)
Currently in grades 10-11
3 weeks |$200| Jun 12-Jul 1
This three-week opportunity is for the aspiring camp counselor (for girls going into grades 11-12). CIT II participants will spend nights in their own unit and receive ongoing supervision and leadership guidance from the CIT Director while learning the skills needed to be an outstanding camp counselor during the day. CIT II‘s will experience the challenges and rewards of working with younger girls through training that includes application of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, exploring the various leadership styles, learning positive behavior techniques, age and social characteristics, and resident camp skills. Participants will have an opportunity to observe unit and program staff, evaluate experiences, and receive guidance from the CIT Director as they assist in units, building up to spending an entire day with their assigned unit. Prerequisite: CIT I. Girls will earn their CIT II pin. Girls will go home the weekends between their three weeks.

CIT I’s will spend nights in their own unit and receive ongoing supervision and leadership guidance from the CIT Director, while building teamwork skills, and observing unit staff. Girls will work towards their CIT pin. Girls will go home between their two weeks.

Girls will complete steps toward the Climbing Adventure badge.

Let's Explore: Mammoth Cave National Park (Week 3)
Currently in grades 8-11

Head down to Mammoth Cave National Park to explore both in the caves and around the park. You and your group will spend the week having the ultimate adventure! You'll go on walking cave tours where you hike through the caves learning about the history and geology of Mammoth Cave, with plenty of time for hiking outside around the park, too. Then, hop in a canoe or kayak and paddle down the river. At night, look up to the stars and enjoy the view in one of the world's newest International Dark Sky Parks. Girls will work towards their Ultimate Recreation Challenge or Adventurer badge.

Pack a backpack and wander out to the less-traveled trails of camp! Spend your session exploring parts of camp not many others see. On your second night, pick a spot and set up camp, cook your dinner, and sleep under the stars. You've read their books, you watch them on the big screen, now spend your time at camp exploring your favorite fandoms with girls just as excited about them as you! Bring your books and knowledge and spend time focusing on different fandoms. From a galaxy far far away to Platform 9 ¾ and beyond, try your hand at lightsaber fights, games of quidditch, and adventurous challenges just like your favorite characters. While you’re at it, develop your own story and write your own comics to begin your path as the next great author! Girls will work toward their Comic Book artist badge.

This three-week opportunity is for the aspiring camp counselor (for girls going into grades 11-12). CIT II participants will spend nights in their own unit and receive ongoing supervision and leadership guidance from the CIT Director while learning the skills needed to be an outstanding camp counselor during the day. CIT II‘s will experience the challenges and rewards of working with younger girls through training that includes application of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, exploring the various leadership styles, learning positive behavior techniques, age and social characteristics, and resident camp skills. Participants will have an opportunity to observe unit and program staff, evaluate experiences, and receive guidance from the CIT Director as they assist in units, building up to spending an entire day with their assigned unit. Prerequisite: CIT I. Girls will earn their CIT II pin. Girls will go home the weekends between their three weeks.

Explore the beauty of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most visited national park in America. Spend the week away from Camp Whip Poor Will camping in Tennessee where you will visit some of the most iconic sites the Smokies have to offer. The highlight of the trip will be your Llama trekking experience! You’ll spend two days with your new llama friends - you'll do hikes on the first day and spend the second day hiking at the llama farm and seeing all the llamas! Brainstorm, Build, Test! This week is all about using your imagination, finding problems, creating solutions, and coming up with new and exciting things. Work with your team to design, build, and test an animal life jacket. Design and create a camp cabin inspired by nature using unique supplies. Come up with more projects as a group, too. When you’re not busy creating, you’ll have plenty of time to take a ride down the zip line or shoot archery. Girls will work toward the Cadette Think Like an Engineer Journey.

Become a true voyager by spending your week on the water. Perfect your paddling skills in either a canoe or kayak or both! Work with a team to build your own raft and race against your fellow Voyagers. Then head to the Little Miami River and put your skills to the test. Spend the night camped along the river listening to the water while watching the stars. You'll also swim, cook a meal over the fire and more.

Grab your donut passport and trek on down the Butler County Donut Trail! You and your donut loving companions will travel to donut shops along the world famous donut trail, in the search of the best donut in Butler Co. Learn what it takes to keep a donut shop running and maybe a few trade secrets along the way. You'll have plenty of time back at camp each day to do all you other favorite camp activities too!
